First Ukrainian Charity NFT Auction by UFDA

Table of Contents
On February 18, the first charity NFT auction by the Ukrainian Fund of Digitized Art (UFDA) will be launched in partnership with the Prytula Charity Foundation. For three days, until February 21 inclusive, anyone can participate online to bid on unique artworks by renowned Ukrainian artists, contributing to the support of Ukraine's Armed Forces and the preservation of national cultural heritage. This first-of-its-kind event vividly demonstrates how art, technology, and philanthropy can unite people in a shared effort to safeguard and advance cultural values.
The Prytula Charity Foundation accompanies the auction and is one of the largest organizations dedicated to directing resources toward supporting the military and civilians affected by russian aggression.
The Ukrainian Fund of Digitized Art (UFDA) is not only about holding auctions; its broader mission is to preserve valuable artworks and promote culture through a cutting-edge digital format. Thanks to modern NFT technology, artists can protect their copyrights, verify the authenticity of their works, and gain global exposure.
Thus, purchasing an NFT goes far beyond obtaining a digital file. It grants the buyer rare and exclusive ownership of the artwork's "Digital Original," with all data on the transaction and authorship permanently recorded on the blockchain. In this way, each acquisition represents a tangible act of support for culture and a meaningful investment in its future.
Featured Artists
Zhanna Kadyrova (b. 1981, Brovary) is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, video, performance, and photography. She is a recipient of the Kazimir Malevich Award and the Grand Prix of the Kyiv Sculpture Project (2012), and her works have been exhibited at prestigious international biennales and shows.

Volodymyr Manzhos (Waone Interesni Kazki, b. 1981) began his artistic journey in the late 1990s as part of the graffiti crew "Ingenious Kids. "He eventually became a prominent figure in contemporary Ukrainian art. His work merges surrealism, Ukrainian folklore, and mythology, forming a distinctive and deeply symbolic artistic language.

Nikita Kadan (b. 1982, Kyiv) is a graduate of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, a member of the R.E.P. (Revolutionary Experimental Space) collective, and one of the founders of "Hudrada," an art-activist group. His works delve into historical contexts and contemporary challenges, addressing themes like the Soviet legacy and current events in Ukraine.

The significance of the auction lies in multiple dimensions. It ensures the preservation of history by creating digital copies of artworks that safeguard Ukraine's cultural heritage, regardless of external threats. It also serves as an investment in the future, as NFTs are gaining worldwide popularity and may increase in value over time. Meanwhile, each transaction has a charitable impact, directly supporting those in conflict zones and strengthening Ukraine's defenses. Finally, the global promotion of Ukrainian art underscores the country's cultural identity and highlights the richness and diversity of its heritage.

Why NFT?
An NFT (non-fungible token) is a digital certificate guaranteeing the uniqueness and authenticity of a work on the blockchain. Through smart contracts:
- The artist retains the rights to their work and obtains proof of authenticity;
- The collector acquires a verified masterpiece, with information stored on a decentralized network;
- A portion of the proceeds is automatically allocated to charitable causes—specifically the Serhiy Prytula Foundation.
Digital Originals: DLCT Technology
UFDA employs Digital Light Capture Technology (DLCT) to digitize physical objects with resolutions up to 400 MPX. Thanks to this innovation:
- A Digital Original is created as a single copy, holding the same value and quality as the physical artwork;
- Each token contains a unique code recorded on the blockchain, along with proof of authenticity from the artist or copyright holder;
- The security of the transaction is ensured by a smart contract, which distributes proceeds to charity.
