UFDA’s open catalogue of Ukrainian digitized art is growing! Recently, our team digitized three new large-scale works by Olena Topolian, which are available for exploring in full resolution.
New Works
Olena Topolian continues to explore physicality and its relationship with the surrounding world, using diverse media. Her newly digitized pieces include Childhood Memories (2024-2025), Composition from an Academic Study 1 (2025), and Composition from an Academic Study 2 (2025).

About Olena Topolian
Olena Topolian was born in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, in 1998. Studied at the National Academy of Fine Art and Architecture in Kyiv from 2016 to 2023.
Her artworks were presented at such exhibitions: "Elevators Have Windows Too", LIA, Leipzig, Germany (2023), "Bezzvuchnodohlukhoty", NAOMA, Kyiv (2023); "Individual Variability", Modern Art Research Institute, Kyiv (2023); "Cherez Vintsya", Gallery Kruchi, Kyiv (2024).
In her practice, Olena uses various mediums, including paintings, drawings, and sculptures, all of which reflect her deep observation of the human body and its intricate relationship with the transient world around us.

She works with an extensive range of materials, such as charcoal, gouache, ink, liners, markers, oil, oil pastels, pen, pencil, sanguine, sepia, sauce, and watercolor, as well as different surfaces including canvas, cardboard, hardboard, and paper. This diverse approach allows her to capture the essence of her subjects in ways that are both expressive and precise.

She engages in constant life drawing practice, which helps her hone her technical skills and refine her approach. This consistent focus on observation, combined with her intuitive and expressive technique, allows her works to embody a unique and personal touch.
