Ihor Sieliemieniev’s Art Style

The artist engages in figurative painting that least imitates a realistic style. Mythological figures (Golem, Kai and Gerda, Artemis, Pasiphae) and objects (Chimerian landscapes, Greek columns, and totalitarian architectural elements) decompose into chaotic, tiny particles of typographic ink. The line of existence dissolves on paper, and the narrative distorts into abstraction.

He prefers using offset ink in his work. For one exhibition, he scanned his pieces, enlarged them into pixelated forms, and printed them on kraft paper and felt. Sieliemieniev’s art also includes ceramics.
