Biography

Nina Savenko is a well-known Ukrainian graphic artist. She primarily works in lithography and other forms of printmaking, and has recently begun experimenting with painting.

Biography of Nina Savenko

Nina Savenko was born on March 20, 1988, in Kyiv. She studied at the Taras Shevchenko State Art School and later at the Institute of Publishing and Printing of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. She trained under the recognized Ukrainian graphic artist Volodymyr Ivanov-Akhmetov. During her university years, she began working with lithography. 

After graduating, she co-founded "Lithography 30" alongside Taras Kobliuk and Alisa Gots — an open studio for printmaking focused on lithography, etching, and linocut. She is also a co-founder of the annual graphic art auction "The Price of Sorrow". 

Since 2014, she has been actively participating in group exhibitions, thematic festivals, and art events in Ukraine and abroad, including "Dimensions Variable" (Miami, USA, 2023), "Lithography 30" at IFCMA (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, 2023), "170th of February" (Dortmund, Germany, 2022), "Lithography30" at the Lithography Academy (Tidaholm, Sweden, 2021), "Imprint. Ukrainian Printed Graphics of the XX–XXI Centuries" at Mystetskyi Arsenal, and "Lithography. Kyiv. 1988–2020" at the White World Gallery (both Kyiv, 2020).

Currently, the artist lives and works in Kyiv.

Nina Savenko's Famous Pieces: Exploring Vulnerability Through Printmaking 

Nina Savenko is known for her delicate and emotionally charged lithographs, often exploring themes of empathy and human connection. Her work is marked by a deep sensitivity to the emotional impact of color and form. 

In an interview with "Your Art" magazine, she admitted that she uses color symbolically, saying, "I use red and black. Black is for graphics, red is for love". This can be illustrated through works such as "Come Here", "Do as I Said", "No One Sees", "Surprise", which are available on the UFDA website.

Nina Savenko's art focus lies in exploring emotional interrelations within society and responding to contemporary events through her prints. Her artworks often deal with themes of empathy and emotional resonance.
