Born in Dnipro in 1989, Lucy Ivanova is a Ukrainian artist. She primarily works with painting, graphics, sculpture, and video. She draws on personal experiences, transforming them over time as she engages with her chosen materials. In her work, she explores themes of the everyday and the fragile, shifts in lifestyle, changing perspectives on art, the impact of war, and intimacy—sometimes quite literally, incorporating elements like thermal imaging and themes of sleep—as well as the experience of motherhood.
In 2019-2020, together with Yegor Antsygin, she co-curated the visual residency program at the ArtSvit Gallery. The artist has presented her personal projects across Ukraine in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, and Odesa.
Before the full-scale russian invasion, she lived and worked in Kyiv. She is now temporarily based in Vienna.
