Luka Basov’s Famous Paintings: Exploring Corporeality
The artwork of Luka Basov also includes works from the “Victim” series. For the creation of works in this series, the artist used watercolors on paper.
In his series “Emergency Exit into My Dream”—created shortly after the full-scale invasion—the artist presents disconnected images: a portrait from behind, a neck, a torso, and a hotel corridor. These images evoke a dreamlike ambiguity, inviting the viewer to form stories or interpretations, keeping them in suspense, and cutting off before the end. By exploring the trauma of war and its impact on perception, the artist addresses subconscious fears, where the sense of hidden threat persists, even in safe spaces. Luka Basov’s paintings for sale are available at auction on the UFDA website.
Luka Basov’s Art Style
Basov’s art explores corporeality in images and ways of its representation, the interplay between painting and photography. The artist often uses photographic references as a starting point for his work.
The artist claims that he is fascinated by images that have multiple layers of meaning and are not immediately comprehensible and have a certain depth. Or those that are not apparent at first glance and require time to be perceived.
