Biography of Nickita Tsoy

Born in Kyiv in 1991, Nickita Tsoy was raised in a creative family. This allowed him to develop his drawing skills within a creative environment that encouraged freedom of self-expression.

He attended two art schools and graduated from the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture (2010–2016) and the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts (2018–2019). 

The artist has participated in numerous exhibitions. Recent solo shows include:

  • “Places where we don't exist” at Pragaleria in Warsaw (2024);
  • “HAMPERDU” at Pragaleria in Warsaw (2019);
  • “HAMPERDU” at White World Gallery in Kyiv (2019);
  • “BODY / SOMA” at Pragaleria in Warsaw (2017).

In addition, Tsoy’s works have been featured in group exhibitions, including “Ukrainian Pastoral” at Imagine Point Gallery in Kyiv (2024), “Concentration of Will” at M17 Contemporary Art Center in Kyiv (2023), “Overflow” at Taiten talon Art House in Finland (2023), “Before the War” at the Odesa Fine Arts Museum in Odesa (2022), “Iron Sky” at the Kyiv National Art Gallery (KNAG) in Kyiv (2022), “Don’t Close Your Eyes: Ukrainian Artists Respond to the War” in the USA (2022), and many others.

Nickita Tsoy’s Famous Works: Exploring Identity, Memory, and Historical Narratives through Cynical Realism

Tsoy explores themes of identity, memory, and the interpretation of historical events, often questioning how history is presented and perceived. He employs various mediums, including installations, video art, and sculptures, to provoke critical thinking and offer alternative perspectives.
