Pavlo Bedzir’s most renowned and enduring series, which identifies him as a master of graphic art in Ukraine, is the cycle of works titled “Life of Trees.” Depicting the intricate intertwining of branches and the whimsical postures of trees became his Magnum Opus. The artist created his first monotypes featuring trees in the late 1950s, and from the 1980s until the end of his life, this theme remained central to his work.

Bedzir viewed trees not merely as natural objects but as archetypal symbols capable of reflecting universal themes of life, transformation, and interconnectedness. In his art, he combined close observation of nature with profound contemplation of its metaphysical dimension, producing works that inspire both aesthetic admiration and existential reflection.
