Yevdokym Voloshynov was one of the most prominent masters of academic still life painting in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Voloshynov’s art comprises more than 400 works, including still lifes, interiors, and landscapes, though only a small portion has survived to this day. Nevertheless, he is regarded as one of the unrivaled masters of still life painting.
Biography of Yevdokym Voloshynov
The artist was born in 1824 and studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts starting in 1846. He lived and worked in Kharkiv. An important chapter in his life was his work as a teacher, as he taught at the Kharkiv Institute for Noble Maidens and the Kharkiv Veterinary Institute starting in 1865.
Voloshynov’s paintings have been featured in exhibitions at the Society of Kharkiv Artists and other venues. In 1909, he had a personal exhibition.
The artist died in 1913 in Kharkiv. Nowadays, after his death, his works are held in museums across Ukraine, including the Nykanor Onatsky Regional Art Museum in Sumy.
