Inga Levi is a talented Ukrainian artist who works with graphics and painting, with a primary focus on urban space, architecture, and monumental art.

Inga Levi’s paintings have been featured in numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, including those at Svitlo Gallery in Lviv, Galeria Labirynt in Lublin, Mala Gallery of Mystetskyi Arsenal and Dymchuk Gallery in Kyiv, Art Museum in Chernihiv, and many more. 

Biography of Inga Levi

The artist was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she is currently based. She studied book illustration at Kyiv Polytechnic University (NTUU KPI) in the Publishing Faculty, graduating in 2011. She later earned a degree in Contemporary Art from the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts in 2021. In 2024, she completed her master's degree at the Intermedia Faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Poland.

In 2021, Inga Levi served as the curator for the restoration of the mosaics at Kyiv Central Bus Station (1960–61), originally created by A. Rybachuk and V. Melnychenko.

Between 2018 and 2019, she worked as a mosaicist and acted as the representative of artist V. Melnychenko in the restoration of the "Stars and Constellations" fountain (1963–65) at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth.

The artist has created a rich and diverse oeuvre that spans a variety of mediums and techniques, demonstrating exceptional versatility and depth. Working with drawing and painting, she skillfully utilizes materials such as paper, pencil, tempera, pastel, and cardboard to craft intricate and emotive pieces.

Levi’s original paintings include works from the “Surveillance Camera” series such as “Woman of Hopper's Painting" (2020), “Venus” (2020), “TV-Watcher” (2020), and many more. Inga Levi’s Art Style

Levi’s art explores the interconnectedness of outer and inner landscapes, reflected in her work with urban landscapes, mosaics, installations, and transdisciplinary art. In the 2000s, she became interested in urban space, architecture and monumental art, which was reflected in artistic practice as work with the urban landscape.

In February 2022, the artist embarked on creating "Double Exposure," an expansive art series and a daily chronicle of life during the war. Today, the series comprises nearly 1000 graphic sheets — each representing a day of the war. Every sheet is an evocative and documentary layering of two realities from a specific day: events of the war, frontline news, or the lives of soldiers intertwined with civilian life, the artist's personal experiences, and the broader social context within and outside the country.
