The work is a part of a diary series in the form of an illustrative depiction based on the author's real memories of being in Mariupol at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. This series format references the elongated, unconventional format of photographs taken with a Hasselblad X-Pan camera, which the artist wished to have in the city. Depicting reality as if through a camera lens creates a sense of necessary distance and detachment, while the elongated format allows for multiple scenes occurring at different times to be included.

In particular, this sheet illustrates two scenes. At the top, a passage through a Russian army checkpoint at the exit from Mariupol. During this passage, some Asian crew was filming a report about the delivery of humanitarian aid; to the right, a Russian soldier with reddish mustaches squints in the sun. At the bottom, the scene shows a passage through the Ukrainian-controlled section of the main gate of the Illich Iron & Steel Works. On the right, the author himself is depicted. Overhead, a plane flew, bombing the Steel Works and the surrounding area.
