Daniil Nemyrovskyi's Art Style
The artist creates powerful images through dense strokes, building volumes and tonality with layers of lines. The human body remains central in his works: static, naked figures and bodies twisted into knots, often depicted in a slightly exaggerated way.
As curator and art historian Alya Segal highlighted in her article for Wonderzine, the figures in Nemyrovskyi's work are not conventionally beautiful, but his fascination with certain types of people is unmistakably clear.
The artwork of Daniil Nemyrovskyi from 2022 focuses on themes of war, Mariupol, and the defenders of Azovstal. These pieces serve as tributes, records of memories, and attempts to draw attention to the ongoing war. In his portraits, Nemyrovskyi’s figures bear a closer resemblance to real prototypes, with more detailed depictions of faces and eyes.
