This series, created after the onset of the full-scale invasion, marks a transformative stage in Mitya Fenechkin's artistic journey. Prior to this, Fenechkin had established himself as a designer and illustrator, with his works featured on album covers for Ukrainian musical groups. However, the events of February 2022 became a catalyst for a deep introspective exploration of the human psyche amidst historical upheavals. The artist highlights an inner compulsion to express these experiences emotionally, regardless of their pain.

“February 2022-2023” serves as a visual diary, capturing Fenechkin’s immediate responses to the news and experiences too profound for words—moments when language falters, leaving only a primal cry in its place.
