Biography of Zakhar Shevchuk
The artist was born in 1992 in Polonne, Khmelnytskyi region, Ukraine. From 2007 to 2012, he studied at the Arts College named after M.B. Grekov in Odesa. Later, from 2012 to 2017, Zakhar attended the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, where he obtained a Master’s degree.
Additionally, the artist completed the Contemporary Art Course Program at the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts (KAMA) in 2015.
Since 2012, Zakhar Shevchuk has been participating in numerous art exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. Zakhar Shevchuk’s paintings have been exhibited at White World Gallery in Kyiv, Imagine Point Gallery in Kyiv, New Art Corridor in Newton (USA), Neuer Wall 72 in Hamburg (Germany), among many others.
He also participated in the Olexander Murashko National Art Competition (2015), VI and VII National Painting Art Triennales (2016 and 2019, respectively).
Moreover, during his career, Zakhar Shevchuk has received several awards and accolades, including the Grand Prix at Silver Easel (Open Student Contest in Painting) in Uzhhorod (2017) and the First Prize at Kyiv Art Fort (Painting Competition for Anatoliy Kryvolap Prize) in Kyiv (2017).
In addition to painting, the artist serves as a lecturer and curator in the drawing department at NAFAA. He lives and works in Kyiv.

According to Zakhar, his goal is to convey on canvas the emotions and thoughts evoked by objects or events. The artist does not simply create visual representations of objects or specific things; he strives to communicate the feelings, emotions, and thoughts inspired by these objects or events.
