Biography of Oleksandr Snopok
The artist was born on August 29, 1918, in the village of Vahanychi, Chernihiv region.
In 1938, he completed three years at the Kharkiv Art Institute (Faculty of Painting). Snopok participated in World War II and was awarded several medals. As part of the artillery corps, he took part in driving Nazi occupiers out of Chernihiv in September 1943.
From 1953, he worked in the art and production workshops of the Artistic Fund of the Ukrainian SSR. Beginning in 1954, he actively participated in regional art exhibitions. In 1972, he participated in the republican exhibition “Blooming Soviet Ukraine.”

The artist primarily worked in easel painting. One of his favorite genres was landscape, although he also created portraits.
