A significant place in the artist's work is occupied by pieces dedicated to the metro. As the artist himself explains, the metro and railways represent a comfort zone for someone who grew up in an industrial city. These canvases combine childhood memories of the artist, the industrial landscapes of Dnipro, and cities in eastern Ukraine. For Vladyslav, the metro is intriguing due to its sense of confinement and spatial restriction. Fleeting thoughts arise about the proximity of something supernatural, an underground world. The closeness of vast networks of wires (cables) and pipes, turns, and the rhythmic connections of tunnel vaults captivates his imagination.

Biography of Vladyslav Riaboshtan
The artist was born in 1996 in Dnipro, Ukraine. From an early age, Vladyslav was surrounded by factories, railways, unfinished metro, and other industrial sites, which inspired him.
From 2012 to 2016, he studied graphic design at Dnipro Art College. He later earned a bachelor's degree in easel and formal painting and a master's degree in monumental painting from the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture.
Vladyslav Riaboshtan's paintings have been featured in numerous exhibitions held in various venues in Ukraine and abroad, including those in Kyiv, Lviv, Graz, Basel, Lutsk, Dnipro, and many more.
Currently, the artist lives and works in Kyiv.

Since his childhood, the artwork of Vladyslav Riaboshtan has been inspired by factories, railways, unfinished subways, and many other industrial objects. Even after he moved to another city, he maintained a desire to capture such familiar places. His art aims to preserve the unique atmosphere of these locations, which had a lasting influence on his personal development over the years.
Before the war in Ukraine began, the artist worked on a series of paintings dedicated to the subway. However, the concept of the project has shifted to portray the subway as a shelter, a safe zone from rockets and explosions. The war has changed the perception of many things for Ukrainians, and the artist seeks to show how this experience has altered both what he depicts and why.
