Yurii Bolsa
Yuriy Bolsa was born in 1997 in Chervonohrad (now Sheptytskyi), Lviv region, Ukraine. He studied at the College №11 in Chervonohrad, graduating in 2015 and majoring in computer typing and typesetting.
Bolsa's artistic practice began with self-inflicted imprisonment in the apartment, which lasted for 6 years. So, the artist works with personal stories, dominated by loneliness, self-destruction, and research of the surrounding society through the prism of alienation.
After moving to Kyiv, Yuriy Bolsa began to work more with socio-political problems that resonated with his injuries. The main direction is the theme of destruction and changes that lead to the emergence of something new. Also, he started a project about his hometown, Chervonograd. The main concept is glorifying this place, and at the same time, it serves as a series of self-portraits.
