APL315’s Famous Paintings: the Evolution of Artistic Vision
APL315’s “Current Value” (2024) is a multidisciplinary research project that explores the visual language of heraldry, medieval manuscript illustrations, coins, and personalized seals, all of which tell the stories of the past. These images, deeply rooted in local history, serve both a social and communicative function.
Another of his famous projects is “Odesa Catacombs.” This mural honors the mysterious history of the Odesa Catacombs, drawing inspiration from a collection of photographically documented sketches from the city.
Among APL315’s paintings for sale are “poc” (2012), “parasit5” (2016), “malik” (2021), “pro eto3” (2010), “silpo” (2016), and many more.
APL315’s Art Style
APL315 began his artistic journey as a graffiti writer in the early 2000s, spending years immersed in urban environments before transitioning into post-graffiti practices. In the second half of the 2010s, a significant shift occurred in APL315’s art explorations. Drawing on the courage gained from his graffiti background, a willingness to embrace new challenges, and the habit of long outdoor "raids," he didn’t entirely leave the street behind but began incorporating alternative media into his work.
In these interdisciplinary projects, the artist blends his expertise as an entomologist with a newfound passion for amateur archaeology and metal detection. Artwork by APL315 is made from objects he found on the streets, beaches, and parks—old nails, coins, and rusted cans that tell the stories of the past. These objects evoke the classical Baroque vanitas genre, focusing on life's transience.
His recent projects explore the war-torn regions of Eastern Ukraine, creating large-scale multimedia installations that raise questions about the fragility of modern ecosystems while revealing the deep historical traumas of Eastern Europe.
